ACTIVITIES IN BRIEF

I.T. Department is creating and maintaining I.T. infrastructure for the entire Organisation located at Head Office, Visakhapatnam, various Project Offices and DCI Dredgers. Data Centre located at Head Office, Visakhapatnam is equipped with 6 Rack Servers and 10 TB of SAN storage. ERP Production / Database and Domain Servers configured for ERP and web servers for various online portals. 50 Mbps 1:1 dedicated Internet Leased line to meet the Internet / Email and other business requirements. Unified threat managemen  device configured with Firewall, Intrusion Prevention (IP)and Anti Spam. Dedicated 30 Mbps leased line for SSL VPN users connecting Citrix server from remote projects and Dredgers. Disaster Recovery Site is maintained at Hyderabad.

Microsoft Dynamics Axapta ERP for Finance, Materials, HRMS, Payroll for Shore and Floating employees and project monitoring modulesimplemented and maintained by I.T. Department in coordination with implementation partner and all the customizations of modules are done internally as per user department requirements. Updations and modifications to website / portals are managed internally by I.T. Department.

 As per the Goverment guide lines, DCI has taken e-mail services from NIC, New Delhi. The e-mail facilities have been provided to all executives of DCI. IP based video conferencing infrastructure has been created at HO connecting Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, New Delhi and all major ports in India. All tenders are being hosted in Central Public Procurement portal using valid Digital Signature Certificates.

 I.T.Department is providing computer training support to all Departments of DCI based on the requirements communicated by H.R.-training Cell
